MC70 of Motorola embarks the GPS


With 250.000 past specimens of its terminal hardened for professionals MC70 (conceived by Symbol Technologies, company repurchased since by Motorola), the EDA (Assisting Enterprise DIGITAL) of Motorola have the dimension and answer the request by their flexibility and the richness of the functionalities.

Initially presented in January 2006, the MC70 uses a platform Windows Mobile and meets the needs for the employees on the ground thanks to his protective hull against the shocks and by its sealing against the splashes and dust.

By adding a function GPS, EDA MC70 opens with new possibilities concerning of the geolocalized activities and will ensure a collection of precise data and in real time thanks to its connectivities WiFi, Bluetooth and EDGE.

The terminal will use a module GPS SiRF Star III and will make it possible to jointly use various solutions of navigation, of which CoPilot Live of ALK Technologies thanks to its platform common to many mobile terminals.



EDA MC70 GPS particularly targets the mail service and of delivery. “For example, the companies of delivery and distribution of mail and parcel must know exactly where their deliverymen and their parcels are to be able to evolve/move on this highly competitive market”, explains David Picton, director logistic for division Enterprise Mobility of Motorola.

It is thus naturally at the time of the living room Post Expo 2007 of Barcelona that MC70 GPS was presented, with an availability planned for the first quarter 2008.
